The 3 Healing Essentials, part 2

  To me the three essentials are Nutrition, Lifestyle, and Energy Medicines.

Nutrition

  Nutrition makes a huge difference to healing, energy level, everything.  If you haven't seen the Terry Wahls talk yet, I highly recommend it (and you'll find it on my You Tube Channel in the Nutrition category). It demonstrates very clearly the power of nutrition. She healed herself of chronic MS with a paleo style diet, going from a wheelchair to walking. Paleo is probably the most nutritious diet you can eat.

​  All healing diets begin by reducing or eliminating the most inflammatory foods.  And what are they?  The top 3 offenders are sugar, dairy and gluten. The #1 most problematic food I would say is gluten.  I know several top nutritional healer/educators won't even see clients until they are off sugar, dairy and gluten - because they are a primary driver of illness for so many. The next most problematic and inflammatory foods are refined vegetable oils (like in potato chips). Many people also find their health improves when they reduce, or even stop eating grains entirely.

 There is nothing that a change in diet can't improve. Anxiety, depression, mental clarity, energy level, skin, decision making ability, sleep...is all profoundly affected by diet. Eat consistently better for even just 2 days, and watch what happens.

  You really want to focus on eating the most nutrient dense foods available: lots of vegetables, some fruit (especially berries), nuts + seeds, coconut oil, olive oil and animal foods. Btw, if you eat just those foods, you are eating a paleo diet. But you don't have to eat 100% paleo to heal. What you do have to do is listen to your body, to find your best diet.

  
Experiment and find what works best for you. Keep a food journal for a few days, noting what you ate and how it made you feel. Try cooking some new recipes or blending some new smoothies! I also highly recommend buying organic or pastured animal foods if you do eat meat. Although many people are going vegan these days, I don't recommend it. I recommend just eating less meat, and buying the highest quality: preferably organic or pastured (grass-fed). This way you will naturally increase your intake of vegetables and healthy fats (make 75% of your plate veggies, or more). If you want to remove something from your diet, remove sugar, gluten, dairy, or even cut way back on grains and see what happens.

  Many top health educators start their clients with a 30 day paleo reset: This is a strict paleo diet for 30 days. This is basically a very high-veggie diet, excluding sugar, dairy, beans and grains. Three popular paleo diets are below. The changes that a diet like that can bring about is amazing.  And you will find their is still a lot to eat: roasted yams, avocado chocolate pudding, fruit crisp topped with nuts and cinnamon....and you don't have to do it 100% if you don't want to. You can do it your way.


  Paleo Diet Resources:
  The Whole 30 - a wonderful diet that's been followed by almost 100 000 people. It is essentially a 30 day paleo 'reset'.
  The Wahls Protocol -  Terry Wahls healed herself of progressive MS using a paleo diet plus functional medicine principles.

  The Bulletproof Diet - created by bio-hacker Dave Asprey, a great healthy-eating template.


  What you don't want to do is go very low fat, or do an extreme detox.  What you do want to do is focus on adding in, instead of taking away. Add in veggie juice, or add in a protein shake. Add in superfoods like hemp seeds, chia seeds or coconut oil. Or add in supplements according to your need, like fish oil for the brain, magnesium for sleep/calm, or B-vitamins for energy.

Lifestyle

  Lifestyle includes a lot. This refers to your home and work, your relationships, movement, and spiritual practice. Also your home and daily routine. This also includes things like getting enough sunlight and play time, and how you use technology - or if you let technology use you.

Energy Medicines

Today most people know almost nothing about energy medicines, but I count Energy Medicines as one of the most important things we can use. Energy medicines are often the fastest way to heal. So what are they?

​
  Energy medicines includes Flower Essences, Homeopathy, Acupuncture, the Shambhala Healing Tools,  PEMF therapies and more. Wherever you use subtle energy, like magnetics, or light and sound, you are working with energy medicine.
​
Below/right: A Shambhala Solar Form, a very advanced form of energy medicine that works with sound, light, and geometry. It is worn on the heart and is very uplifting and protective from EMF's and negative astral energies.

​ But how do Energy Medicines work? They work because as a human being, you are mostly energy.  

​  We now know from quantum physics that matter is mostly empty space. You are mostly empty space! But what permeates that space is your Energy, and that is most essentially you. And the way to affect those deeper levels of your being is through Energetic Medicines.
