You would think that sex in the 21st century, would be more...in the light. But the truth is, sex has only recently started to come out of the closet. I wrote this mostly for healers, activists, and concerned people who want to understand better why our world is the way it is today. And we really can't do that without looking at sexuality in our world today, especially a HUGE problem that still goes on daily: the sexual abuse of children. According FBI meta-data, 5% of religious leaders are sexual predators. Thats 1 in 20. This is mostly men, and they mostly abuse boys, but also girls. But why does this matter? Not just because of the suffering that is being caused, but because this is shaping culture. A boy of 5 who's first experience of sex is forced by man, is so traumatizing that it affects him for the rest of his life. And an abuser doesn't usually just prey on him once, but will abuse the same child for years. I explain more below. The movie "Spotlight" (trailer below, 2015), is about exactly this: upon an investigation by the Boston Globe, over 100 victims came forward in the Boston area, women and men who were sexually abused as children, many of them for years, who didn't feel safe speaking about it until they knew that others were also disclosing their abuse. ONE HUNDRED people. And that's just The Boston area. More recently, in another part of the world, several hundred people came forward in a single area, disclosing abuse. If you haven't seen Spotlight yet, I recommend seeing it. It is very well done...but if you don't think you can stomach the whole film, then at least watch the trailer: Yet even after over 100 victims came forward, the Catholic church continued to protect these priests, simply moving them to a new location. Of course, there they abused more children. But please don't assume that I'm picking on Christian priests... Sexual abuse in monasteries in Tibet is also epidemic. Young monks are routinely sexually abused, week after week, and beaten with a heavy stick for small infractions. This has gone on for a long, long time, and even the most revered Tibetan lamas do not escape this treatment, as evidenced by the following You Tube. Here one of the most revered lamas in Tibetan Buddhism, Kalu Rinpoche, explains how he was sexually abused for years by older monks, and now he does not believe in monasteries. Hear this in his own words: And this sexual abuse is not due to sexual repression. And it's not due to generational trauma either. Anyone who doubts what I'm saying in this article only needs watch the above two videos, or spend some time on Google. So why am I writing this article? Because few people even realize that this goes on. Because it happens to people as children, they feel ashamed about it, so they either just don't talk about it or they repress the memories. The years go by and they try to forget it ever happened. However, they suffer the effects: they become alcoholics or turn to other drugs, and their relationships become problematic. The abuse affects them for the rest of their life. They Choose Professions That Allow Them To Get Close To Children We know now that many of these abusers choose occupations that allow them to get close to children. These choose positions like school teacher or religious leader because of the opportunity it creates to satisfy those desires. So this doesn't stop with religious leaders. Pedophiles, today, are in every area of society where there are children. I myself was abused by my uncle at around 3 years of age, and didn't remember until was 26 in an extended meditation retreat. And I have all the classic symptoms of that abuse: digestive problems, anxiety attacks, and I have had difficulty initiating sexual relations since I can remember. I never knew why until the memories came back: sex has just always seemed dirty to me. Sexual abuse goes on so much that is shaping our world, our culture. The symptoms of abuse (remembered or not), are clear. Its a lot like returning from war: you can no longer maintain a relationship. You can't relax: chronic anxiety, mood swings and depression become the norm. And of course addiction follows. Its no coincidence that after 9p, restaurants close and pubs open: alcohol and worse is what gets a recovering victim of abuse through life. But as we heal ourselves, we are doing our world a great service. But we must also go a step further: we must stop the children alive today from being abused as well. Again, according to my research and sources: most religious leaders, incl the Dalai Lama and the Pope, are more interested in protecting their image and following than they are in rooting out the problem within the huge organizations that they lead. The cause of their negligence is simple: they dont want to be seen as running a network of child abusers. Their image is more important to them then ending suffering. The truth is sexual abuse only began to be spoken about 40 years ago, and the first task force initiatives weren't created until 20 years after that...so we still have not really brought this fully to light and dealt with it. More recently, and shockingly, I have read about young people in their teens who have posted anonymously on web forums that they have the urge to sexually abuse...and they know that is wrong...but they don't know what to do about it. The truth is that abusers and victims both need healing. The truth is that there really is dark and light. And while the light is here working to bring in new forms of energetic healing sciences, for example...the dark forces are also here, working through human lower nature, to oppress and hold humanity down. And one major way they do this is through creating situations of compulsive sexual abuse - which affects the victim for lifetimes, just like any major trauma does. The truth is that humanity has been on a very long exorcism-healing process. And right now we're in a time of a healing crisis, which means a lot of confusion - all this coming up so we can transmute it...and God/Inner Light IS transmuting it - as evidenced by how much we have evolved in the last 60 years, in every way. This is where we're at now. Now the good news. The good news is that the Buddha's are here, and they are bringing in profound energetic healing systems that are bringing rapid healing, to end the insanity. This is happening now. With revelations like Advanced Soul Therapy, Brainwave Optimization, and others, we can now help people to truly heal: to transform pain, to balance their brain, to regain an inner unity to their Soul, so we can cease channeling lower astral plane energies and their desires. We can now heal our personality's trauma from lifetimes, and create the real possibility of what we're here for: Heaven On Earth, or humanity becoming humane. Through using the healing technologies that are becoming available, we can now truly and profoundly heal, and create the abundant life that we are here for. What We Can Do Now There is much we can do to help. The first and main thing we can do is to talk about it. We need to bring this fully out of the closet and let people know that sexual abuse is still going on, and in a big way. And when enough people know about this, we will stop it. Like what I'm doing with this article here: stop hiding the fact that you were abused, or your friend was abused. Bring this reality out in the light, and talking about it is the first step. "It happens, it happens a LOT, and it needs to stop". Say these words. I know of 7 people off the top of my head who were sexually abused. I know them personally. They have told this to me because I am someone people open up to. I can count several friends, extended family members, and co-workers who have revealed this to me. It really is happening in a very big way. I think our present problem with sexual abuse (of both men AND women) needs to be as much on our minds as saving our environment. And I should mention: Healthy people (people who have not been abused or traumatized in some way) will not sell our environment for money. Beyond bringing it out of the dark, we can also take responsibility for self-healing. To do that is actually a great gift to others, because any inner healing we realize radiates out into humanity as an easier choice for them to make. We are very psychically connected. And a third thing we can do is to get politically involved. As always, our decision makers at the highest levels (like the Pope and the Dalai Lama) have the ability to bring about great change - if they are motivated. We can motivate them. People who commit abuse to others should go to jail - they must be stopped from doing further harm. To recap: 1) bring sexual abuse out of the dark in which it thrives by talking about it 2) heal yourself, especially using energetic medicines 3) be involved in legal action - its coming Please let me know what you think with a comment below. Yes, its easier to look away, for sure. The harder thing to do is to stand and change.
