"Worrying only attracts to you what you're worried about"
Do you worry? If so, you're not alone, as many people worry. And don't think this has anything to do with YOU. Worry is a natural result of being sensitive being in the world as it is today - often what we're feeling and getting drawn into isn't even ours, it's energy coming at us from the world in all it's pain and confusion.
Worry is not your natural state. And like everything else that is unnatural to us, it can completely be changed. But doing so will take diligent effort - you are really training your mind, and your body, since they are one. See this as mind-training - or a path of self-healing/self-transformation, because that's what it is.
With that in mind, here's a few simple solutions that can really help:
1. Visualize specific desired outcomes, repeatedly. My counselling teacher used to say, " Fear disappears when you can see things working out in your minds eye", and "magic number 3... when you visualize something 3 times, it becomes more real." But these images/wants need to be specific. The upside of this is your motivation to achieve these things will increase.
2. Pay attention to what you DO have. This means noticing, each day preferably, the money, opportunities, and love that you DO have in your life.
3. Lose yourself in activity, preferably physical. Yoga will do nicely, but so will anything that requires your full attention - cleaning the house is often loved for this reason: it gets you out of your head, and you get a clean house!
4. Take flower essences. This is probably the most helpful strategy here. Visit my
Flower Essences Healing page for more on that.
For best results, do all four strategies above. And don't underestimate the power of these strategies, they can transform your life.
First worry goes, then right action can happen.
Worry impedes the flow of grace in our lives - so it's really important to NOT hang out in worry. Plus, when worrying you are polluting, putting negative energy into the world.
Ask yourself, "What am I doing right now? Is this what I should be doing?" Worry is an activity we do in the present moment, and we transform it in the present moment, over and over again, by shifting gears, reaching for a medicine, or changing activities, until worry is not longer us - but we have become a stronger, calmer, more optimistic being - and that greatly helps us achieve all our goals and desires.
Beyond the above strategies: you want to eat in a way that stabilizes your blood sugar, since much anxiety comes from blood sugar swings. I also highly recommend regular meditation and yoga - two of our best medicine-practices. They will change your life if done consistently, even for just 10 min at a time.
